Who are the Temple Police?

In an article (Courier Mail 12/02/08) explaining why his stewardship of the Toowoomba Diocese had been the subject of an Apostolic Visitation in 2006 and subsequent investigation since, Bishop William Morris defended his promotion of the ordination of Women, the widespread abuse of the 3rd rite of Reconciliation, his public call to drop the discipline of celibacy, and gloss over 500 years of protestant revolution to recognise as "valid" the ordination of Anglican, Lutheran and Uniting Church clergy, saying "the church couldn't stifle debate".

Bishop Bill, then gave the following inspirational quote, "I will continue to fight for what I believe is the truth."

The Bishop then took aim at the messengers who he believed had been the source of all his troubles, "Bishop Morris said there was a group of very conservative Catholics dubbed the 'temple police' who travelled around parishes dobbing in priests who didn't toe the line. 'There are plenty of temple police around at the moment,' he said."

Inspired by Bishop Morris, and grateful for our name, We will fight for the Truth of the Catholic Faith as taught by the Pope and the Magisterium. We will shine a light on the glorious teaching of the Church and in doing so we will also expose to the light of public scrutiny the folly and dissent of clergy who distort, subvert and oppose the orthodox teaching and practice of the Catholic Church.
